Short and sweet: No.

We spent 3 years developing a new generation of activated carbon filters and can confidently say: Hybrid Supreme filters filter everything except THC and CBD active ingredients.

Nevertheless, the myth persists.
So it's high time to enlighten him once and for all.

It's all a matter of size.

Imagine you are holding a fishing net in the water.
Large particles get stuck. Small molecules? They simply float through.

That's exactly how an activated carbon filter works.

Most of the pollutants produced by smoking are particle-sized — tar, soot, combustion residues.
Activated carbon and fiber caps are designed precisely for this purpose: to attract, bind, and retain these particles.

THC and CBD, on the other hand, are only molecular in size .
They are many times smaller than the pollutants — and therefore simply too tiny to be filtered by any material.

Hybrid activated carbon filter construction: Activated carbon and plant-based fiber caps make the filters efficient.

What's really in your smoke

To make this more tangible: What actually happens while you smoke?

A typical cannabis-tobacco mixture produces at least 600 pollutants when burned.
Everyone knows tar and nicotine. But heavy metals like lead and nickel, as well as hydrogen cyanide, arsenic, and dioxins, are also present.

Did you get your flowers from an unofficial source and are you worried they might be adulterated?
Then another 100-200 pollutants can easily be added.

THC and CBD are not included in this list — they are not produced during combustion, but are contained in the plant itself and remain fully intact when you smoke it.
A filter won't change that.

What hybrid filters can actually do

Hybrid Supreme filters have been proven in laboratory tests to reduce 38% pollutants from the smoke you inhale.
This is not a marketing promise. This is a proven measurement.

The problem with pure activated carbon

Conventional activated carbon filters have a well-known weakness: the carbon is porous and often loosely packaged.
During transport — from the conveyor belt via the wholesaler to your home — activated carbon dust is produced by friction.
This fine dust soaks up pollutants and ends up directly in your lungs.

Less coal dust, greater pollution reduction, thanks to Fiber Caps

Hybrid Supreme filters combine high-purity activated carbon with fiber caps on both sides of the filter core.
They act as a barrier against coal dust particles in the smoke.

The result:

  • 👉🏼 38% greater reduction in pollutants in laboratory tests
  • 👉🏼 No activated charcoal dust in the mouth
  • 👉🏼 Constant airflow — no clogging, even in cold weather

And the active ingredients? They pass through the filter completely.
Just as it should be.

FAQ: Do hybrid filters remove CBD/THC active ingredients?

Does the Hybrid Supreme Filter remove THC or CBD?

No. THC and CBD molecules are too small to be retained by activated carbon or fiber caps due to their molecular size. The active ingredients pass through the filter completely. What is filtered out are larger pollutant particles such as tar and combustion residues.

Can any filter actually filter out THC or CBD?

No — that's physically impossible. No activated carbon filter, no fiber cap, and no other filter material can retain molecules of that size. This applies to all products on the market.

Does an activated carbon filter reduce the effect of smoking?

No. Since THC and CBD pass through the filter unimpeded, an activated carbon filter does not change the concentration of active ingredients in the smoke. What does change: The pollutant load is significantly reduced—proven to be 38% with Hybrid Supreme filters.

What is the difference between particle size and molecular size?

Pollutants like tar are produced as visible combustion particles—large enough to be bound by porous activated carbon. THC and CBD, on the other hand, exist as individual molecules that are a thousand times smaller than these particles. Activated carbon is designed for particles, not molecules.

Why use a filter at all then?

Because of the up to 600 harmful substances produced by smoking—tar, heavy metals, hydrogen cyanide, and more. These substances are particulate and are bound by activated carbon. Hybrid Supreme filters reduce these pollutant levels by 38% - laboratory tested.
